Once you have completed your membership request and release waiver, you will recieve an invoice from Intuit/Quick Books for the amount of your membership dues. You may pay that online, or mail a check to our P.O. Box. If you do not recieve an invoice within 1 week from submitting your application, please email our Treasurer at [email protected]

We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.

6. GUIDELINES FOR RULES OF CONDUCT FOR KCHE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING FIELD TRIPS

To eliminate problems that may arise concerning the conduct of children during group activities, outings, field trips, co-op and events, KCHE would like to establish a simple set of rules for conduct and suggestions on how to enforce them.

KCHE has four assumptions based on the make-up of this homeschool group:

Since we are all professing Christians, we assume that all of us, as parents, want our children to be taught to conduct themselves in a manner befitting Christ. As parents, we also want to conduct ourselves in the same manner.
We assume that the parents in this group want to work together to help our children learn to conduct themselves properly in group situations.
We assume that the children in this group are normal children who will occasionally “test” the authority of the adults around them and will try to “get away with” something that they should not. This does not necessarily reflect poor parenting skills on the part of the parents.
We assume that the adults are in authority over children, and the adults in this group, when working in unison with each other, can lovingly help each other to see what our children are doing. In other words, we believe that we can and should “police” our own group.

Using the above assumptions, the following rules of conduct for field trips and events within our group have been established. The term “adults” means both the parents in the group and any other adult in leadership as a tour guide or teacher.

Children are expected to be polite and respectful of both the adults and other children.
Children are expected to mind the adults the first time they are asked to do or not to do something.
There will be no violations against another person, either physically (pushing, hitting, etc.) or verbally (name-calling, rudeness, etc.)
The group will stay together; no child is to separate himself/herself from the group without his/her parent’s supervision. This is a safety measure as much as a conduct matter.
In general, please do not touch what is not yours, and keep noise to a minimum.
Parents and children are all expected to follow the rules outlined at each field trip or event by the establishment we are visiting.
Parents are expected to respect and follow deadline requests by the organizer of each event. Please do not ask to be included once the deadline has passed.

To enforce the above behavior rules, we have established the following steps any parent can take in order to stop unacceptable behavior:

First, bring the child to his/her parent and explain or have the child explain the infraction.
Second, if the conduct is persistent or especially embarrassing to the group (gives us a bad name, is reported by the adults at the establishment, or makes people wonder if they want to be associated with this group), the conduct can be reported to the KCHE representative in charge. This representative will contact the parents about the complaint at which time the child will be encouraged to apologize to anyone who may have been directly involved.
Third, if any child has more than one offense, that is a reasonable complaint, or is defiant after being corrected, that child will be asked to refrain from attending any future events or trips.
Fourth, any child who has three occurrences of misbehavior will be brought to the attention of the KCHE leadership board and an action plan to correct the behavior will be agreed on by the board and parents. If an agreement plan cannot be reached or complied with, KCHE has the right to terminate membership.

Attendance at a field trip or event signifies the acceptance of these rules and agreement by a family to abide by them. Parents are encouraged to review these rules with your child(ren) prior to a field trip or event. We have read and agree to the rules of conduct
7. All members are required to sign the KCHE Liability Release and Hold Harmless Agreement (a.k.a. KCHE Release Waiver 2.0). Approval will not be granted unless the waiver has been signed.

8. Addendum to Add Additional Adults to Waiver:

Any additional adults (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) that might participate in field trips, gatherings, Co-op, or
any other KCHE event must also be listed on the Liability Agreement. Individuals added will have a background
check performed before approval is granted to attend KCHE functions. Exception: Family and friends attending
graduation do not need to be added to the form.

11. Terms of Agreement:

If you, too, are responding to God’s call to educate your children at home, and would like to participate with our group, Kankakee Christian Home Educators, you must:

1. Have personally responded to God’s offer of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

2. Read all current guidelines. Agreement to abide by these guidelines will be indicated by your submission of this form.

3. Submit the yearly membership fee of $35 per family + $5 per child registered in your family. You may pay via our online payment platform through Quickbooks (an invoice and link will be emailed to you after submitting this application) or by check made payable to KCHE and sent by mail to P.O. Box 1461, Bourbonnais, IL 60914.

4. Have completed the KCHE Release Waiver in link above. Printed waivers may also be mailed to KCHE, P.O. Box 1461, Bourbonnais, IL 60914.

To pay your membership fees of $35 per family + $5 for each registered child:

We now use Quickbooks Payments for our online payment processing platform. Once your application and waiver are received, a Quickbooks Invoice will be generated and emailed to you at the email address listed as your primary email. The email will contain a link for payment as well as a printable invoice for your records. Payment may be made with Credit or Debit card, or ACH Bank transfer. Once payment is received and your account is processed, you will receive an email regarding your membership status. If you don't recieve your invoice within 3 business days of your application submission, please email our Treasurer at: [email protected]
